• Valley Word Church
  Valley Word Church is a multi-cultural Word of Faith church located in Roanoke, VA along the I-81 corridor. The Vision of Valley Word Church is to connect people to God and their destiny in Christ and to empower believers of all nations and cultures for success in the home, the church, the marketplace, and the world.
• Living Word Family Church
  One of Life Link's financial partner ministries. Living Word Family church is pastored by Pastors Steve and Connie Corona, who stepped in as Senior Pastors when Pastors Crabtree relocated to Roanoke to pastor Valley Word Church. Living Word Family Church, located in Raleigh, NC, has experienced explosive growth due to their ability to utilize culturally relevant ministry and outreach.
• Faith Community Church, Tucson
  In the New Testament, all outward ministry was based in and flowed out from a mother or headquarter church. FCCI is formed after that same pattern. The headquarter (mother) church of Faith Community Churches International is Faith Community Church located in Tucson, AZ.
• Faith Community Churches International
  Faith Community Churches International is a Bible-centered community of faith that exists for the following purpose:
  1. To provide an association of ministers and churches in which each member ministry is valued, respected and encouraged to develop to his or her full potential.
  2. To provide for the development and facilitate the full expression of the five-fold ministry gifts.

Travel Resources

• Passport Agency
  Please apply for your passport at least 3-4 months prior to the team's departure date to prevent any last minute travel delays.
• Overseas Immunization Information
  The Health Department no longer does overseas immunizations. If you are located in Roanoke, the new location for overseas immunizations is located in the Valley View Mall complex at: Maxim Healthcare Services 4910 Valley View Blvd. Suite 211, Roanoke, VA 24012. Telephone: 866-844-9257. Be aware that overseas immunizations are done by appointment only. Also, some overseas vaccines are not kept in stock and may need to be ordered before they can be administered to you. Please do not wait until the last minute to get your immunizations. One other consideration is that some medications must be taken or started a certain number of weeks before travel to be effective. It is the responsibility of each missionary to assure that they follow the recommended immunization schedule as set forth by the CDC for overseas immunizations.
• Centers For Disease Control
  If you feel the need to read up on all of the diseases that you may run into in Uganda, here's the site to go to. Be aware that the team does come into direct contact with malaria, TB, hepatitis, and HIV patients at the Life Link Medical Centre in Uganda.

Additional Resources

It is always a good idea to familiarize yourself with the history, culture, and customs of the country to which you will be traveling. It is our recommendation that once you have decided to become a team member you take some time to diligently prepare yourself for a totally new experience.

Having said that, we would also caution you to not allow someone else's bad experience (or one of those, "My Aunt Sadie went on a trip to Africa and her liver got et up by parasites from the water!" stories) to cause you to get over into fear.

Preparing oneself physically, emotionally, and spiritually before beginning the mission trip will help to assure a great experience that you will look back on with fond memories for years to come.
